Mahmut Taş was born on 05 November 1987 in Antalya. He completed his university education in Yıldız Technical University, Department of Civil Engineering in 2009.His passion for cinema from an early age led him to write scripts and shoot films. In this context, he received various cinema training and film shooting techniques training from private courses between 2015 and 2018. He received training in screenwriting techniques between 2018-2019. He shot his first short film PAİN in June 2018. He released his movie E-HAPPINESS in 2019. It took part in the official selection in 15 festivals. In 2021, he completed his short film THE RETURN, a co-production between Turkey and Uzbekistan. Also in 2021, he completed his movie CRACKED. With this film about drought, he received official selection in nearly 300 festivals all over the world and received awards from nearly 50 festivals. The festival process continues. He took part both as an actor and in the production team of the film, which was released in 2022 under the name Antalya Kaleiçi documentary. At the beginning of 2024, he released the documentary THE ISLAND , which he wrote and directed.
