On their way to see a performance of Antigone, Julie, a French and African immigrant, and her 7-year-old daughter, Jazz, stop to get milkshakes. When the cashier asks about Julie’s accent, the comment prompts a discussion between Julie and Jazz about Jazz’s recent discovery: slavery.
